An Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury
This site was created by and is for those with Brown Sequard Syndrome, their loved ones and the medical community. We aim to shed light on a previously darkened corner, where patients will learn they aren’t alone, doctor’s will gain a better understanding of BSS and for families to find the help they’ve been seeking.
This rare, incomplete spinal cord injury results in the loss of sensation (temperature and pain) on one half of the body and the loss of motor (weakness or paralysis), proprioception and vibration on the other half below the region of the injury. The causes may include: trauma or compression of the spinal cord, blood vessel obstruction or disease.
